COURTYARD by Marriott
COURTYARD by Marriott was an out-of-the-ground new construction of a 107 room hotel, that successfully introduced the utilization of prefabricated pod guestroom bathrooms.
Prior to joining STONEMILE Greg Kittridge acted as a project manager under another employer for COURTYARD by Marriott. As a project manager Greg was engaged early in the design project development process and began collaborating with both the design professional and the owner development group in the early stages of the project.
Greg worked closely with professionals with two parallel focuses at the head of all others: branding and costs. For this project to be completed successfully, each contributor all had to be totally cognizant of the branding. Design requirements of the Marriot, and the costs associated with it, had to fit in certain parameters to make the project feasible for developers.
Greg not only brought the construction costs within budget, he also successfully introduced the utilization of prefabricated pod guestroom bathrooms for all 107 guestrooms. The utilization of these pods helps shorten construction duration by almost two full months. It also helped reduce on-site construction general condition costs, but more importantly, it provided the developer with more than half a million dollars in additional revenue since they were able to open the hotel earlier than originally expected.
